SHANGHAI, April 21: The China Taiwan Strait is the major issue among others in the South China Sea. Refuting recent accusations of interference made by Taiwan, Qin Gang, Foreign Minister of China said yesterday “Taiwan Strait belong to China, and that it is the right of China to uphold its sovereignty”. 

The remarks came at the Lanting Forum in Shanghai, where wide range of topics relating to debt, global economy, and Taiwan were discussed in detail.

"Recently there has been absurd rhetoric accusing China of upending the status quo, disrupting peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait," Qin said. "The logic is absurd and the conclusion dangerous."
