Russia and Ukraine Ready to Accept African Mission for Peace Talks

 

South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa announced in a press brief that Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky his Russian counterpart, Vladmir Putin have agreed to receive African Mission for a peace talks.  The Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, was also standing with him when he broke news at the press brief at Cape Town.  According to Ramaphosa, He discussed the matter on a phone call with both the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine upon which they have shown willingness to accept African mission in order to bring the conflict to an end. The African Mission will include Egypt, Republic of Congo, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia. However, the mission succeeds or not is depends upon the subsequent dialogue between the parties, said the South African President. Furthermore, United Nations Secretary General, United States and United Kingdom were also briefed about the matter.  The African countries are badly disturbed by the price hikes particularly of grain and by the impact of World Trade in the wake of Ukraine war.  A day earlier, Ramaphosa was also quoted by the media saying that South Africa has been under acute pressure to take a side in the conflict, especially after the allegation levelled by American Ambassador for transporting weapons to Russia through the ship name Lad R, back in December.
