The Foreign
Minister of Turkiye and Syria held their first formal meeting in Moscow on
Wednesday, 10th of May after the Syrian civil war. The top diplomatic
officials of Iran and Russia also attended the talks.
Moscow urged
both the countries to draw a roadmap to normalize their strained ties.
According to
the statement issued by Moscow, the Syrian and Turkish ministers agreed to assign
their Deputies to put further a “roadmap” to mend ties between the two
countries. They will work in coordination with defence ministers and security
services of the four states.
The foreign ministry of Russia has added that during
the meeting ministers maintained a positive and constructive environment where
both agreed to continue bilateral contacts.
According to
Russian Foreign Minister said that a proposal regarding roadmap could be put
before the leaders of Syria, Turkiye, Iran and Russia who will determine the
general guidelines for further progress.
Iranian Foreign
Minister Hossein Amir-Abdillahian also welcomed the move by saying that Iran
believes that the two countries can put past behind them and resolve their
bilateral issues through talks and deepen cooperation and good neighbourliness.
He also pointed towards the changing polarity world’s decline of American hegemony.
